Where Do I Start?
The Recovery Journey

Step 1: Connect with a Rapid Access to Addictions Medication Clinic (RAAM Clinic)

A typical recovery journey is as follows:

RAAM Clinic -> Detox Facility -> Treatment Centre -> Transitional Housing also known as (2nd Stage Housing)

Step 2 – Consider attending Detox

  • Youth Winnipeg Detox Programs

    • Marymound is a 5 bed, medically supervised, stabilization unit for youth 12-17 years of age. Clients can stay for up to 7 days. Clients must call central intake to get into the detox unit.

Step 3 – Consider Treatment after Detox

There are a variety of treatment options available. Some treatment options are provided by Shared Health, such as AFM and Willard Monson House. Others are operated by not-for profit organizations and still others are operated by for-profit corporations. There can be financial barriers to enter some treatment centres.

First inquire into whether the treatment centre you are looking into has a program to address financial barriers.
